Chief of General Staff inspects Southern military units
PANO – Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, paid an inspection visit to Division 5 of Military Region 7 (MR7) on August 27. He was accompanied by MR7’s Commander, Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, and representatives of the relevant agencies of the General Staff.
Since the beginning of the year, the division’s Party Committee and Chain-of-command have implemented higher levels' instructions in close line with real situations. Their troops adopted mission training requirements, which were carried out effectively. As a result, 100 percent of the training objectives were successfully completed.

Speaking to the unit’s leadership, General Giang praised the division’s achievements in building a comprehensively strong unit and maintaining high combat readiness. With the requirements of the national construction and defense cause in the current context, General Giang asked the unit to uphold the ideological and political education of the troops, heighten their vigilance and successfully conduct mass mobilization work. In addition, he urged the division’s leadership to collaborate with relevant local forces and to regularly observe combat readiness, contributing to the fulfillment of all assigned tasks.
On the same day, when visiting Factory A41 under the Department of Technical Services of the Air Defense Air Force Service, General Giang asked all staff, workers and employees to promote self-study, to enhance their competence and foreign language capability, and to master the skills needed in dealing with weapons and equipment, guaranteeing air safety.
