Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs and deputy head of the steering board, and Mr. Le Hai Binh, deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education co-chaired the event.
This year, the Steering Board 35 of the Central Military Commission has thoroughly embraced directions from the Politburo, the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Secretariat, the Central Military Commission, the Central Steering Committee 35 and comprehensively and synchronously realized guidelines and measures in a timely and substantive manner.
Attentively, it has proactively given recommendations to the Politburo, the PCC’s Secretariat, the Central Military Commission to issue policies and directions to further protect the Party’s ideological foundation, fight against wrongful and inimical views in the new situation and enhance the Party’s leadership, the State’s management, while ensuring political and ideological stability in the military. It has also successfully hosted writing contests on the protection of the Party’s ideological foundation and oriented troops and people’ thinking and opinions in a timely manner, thus upholding the Party’s ideological front in the military.

The steering board has also well carried out political education, dissemination of the Party’s policies, the State’s law, defense and military tasks. In addition, the military press and media agencies have closely coordinated with their central and local peers, expanded pages and columns, diversified forms of information and dissemination to give timely and effective orientations in thinking and comments.
Next year, the steering board will continue to embrace the Politburo’s Resolution 35 on strengthening the protection of the Party’s ideological foundation, the fight against wrongful views while actively finding and preventing degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and signs of "self-evolution" and “self-transformation.”
It will speed up research, assessment, make accurate forecast of situational development, give information to and orient thinking of troops and people before important political events of the country, and sensitive issues in the country, the region, and the world.

It will actively grasp situations, hostile forces’ acts of sabotage, strictly manage cultural publications to prevent bad ones from entering barracks. Moreover, it will build strong and healthy party cells, comprehensively-strong agencies and units as well as promote the role of research establishments, academies, schools, press and media agencies in compiling and publishing documents to help the information dissemination work and uphold the Party’s ideological front in the military.
