Border unit praised for task performance
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, spoke highly of the good outcomes in task performance of the Serepok Border Post under the Dak Lak provincial Border Guard.
The assessment was made by Gen. Nam after he led a General Staff mission to inspect the post’s training work and combat readiness. The mission included Lieutenant General Nguyen Long Cang, Commander of Military Region 5 and Major General Le Thai Ngoc, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard.

Having checked and being reported on the post’s task performance, Gen. Nam highlighted the unit’s grasping and forecasting situations, well carrying out training, combat readiness, observing discipline, closely teaming up with local authorities to build a strong political base, making good suggestions to the local leadership to develop local socio-economy and to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty as well as well implement border external affairs.
He tasked the unit to continue achieving the objectives of training and combat readiness missions, follow closely local developments and coordinate with other armed forces in the area to well carry out the Government’s Decree 77 on defending national security, upholding social order and safety and fulfilling defense missions.
