Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien speaking at the event |
Reportedly, over the past time, the Vietnam Border Guard Command has strictly managed immigration at international border gates, made recommendations to the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense (MND), implemented many solutions in administrative reform, and simplified entry-exit procedures, contributing to creating favorable conditions for activities in border areas while fighting smuggling and trade fraud in border areas.
Addressing the event, General Chien hailed the border guards’ efforts in managing the border areas, asking them to continue embracing directives and resolutions of higher levels, actively making recommendations to the MND in entry-exit management, closely working with relevant units and organizations to map out regulations on entry-exit management, and more.
In particular, they should both control immigration at international border areas and take part in the planning of the border gate system and border economic areas, as well as applying information technology in managing border areas.
