Binh Dinh promotes collaboration with coast guard force
PANO - The Binh Dinh provincial Party Committee held a ceremony on August 24 to sign a cooperation agreement with the Party Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard to implement the program entitled “Coast guards stand by fishermen.”
Under the deal, the two sides pledged to enhance coordination in conducting information dissemination and education activities about the Party’s guidelines and the State’s law and policies among local people, actively participating in building a safe area and strong political system, supporting the local in socio-economic and cultural development, hunger eradication, and poverty reduction, assisting fishermen in marine economic development, heightening fishermen’s responsibilities in safeguarding national sovereignty over sea and islands, among others.

The “Coast Guard stand by fishermen” program has been implemented since 2017. Up to now, the Vietnam Coast Guard has inked cooperation agreements with 12 cities and provinces.

The program aims to raise troops and fishermen’s awareness of national sea and islands and encourage them to strictly observe fishing regulations and laws, thus helping the coast guard personnel fulfill their law enforcement mission at sea and firmly protecting national sovereignty and security.

At the signing ceremony, the Vietnam Coast Guard presented 200 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to needy policy beneficiaries and fishermen in Binh Dinh province, and collaborated with other sponsors to hand over 15,000 national flags and 70 gift packages to fishermen in the locality.
