Chief of the General Staff (GS) of the Vietnam People’s Army Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong attended and directed the exercise.
The exercise saw the participation of many forces with a variety of modern weapons and equipment. With high responsibility, the steering committee of the exercise built a document system and conducted exercises close to reality to evaluate the capabilities and combat competence of the participating forces.
Meanwhile, the participating forces pro-actively studied and thoroughly grasped the principles of the organization, preparation and practice of the exercise, among others. They also fully made preparation in terms of logistics supplies and technical services and the construction of combat works for the exercise.

Addressing the event, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong underlined that the exercise was held to enhance command capabilities and collaboration among participating forces in the exercise’s organization, preparations and practice.
It was an occasion for the units to learn and draw experience in training and combat readiness, thereby flexibly applying them to task performance.
The GS chief required the participating forces to complete all contents of the exercise while strictly observing military discipline and the steering committee’s regulations and heightening solidarity and maintaining a good relationship with agencies and units, local authorities and people.

Moreover, they should comply with rules and regulations in the management and use of weapons, ammunition and technical equipment, ensuring the success of the exercise, obtaining the set targets, and ensuring absolute safety for personnel and weapons.
Right after the ceremony, the participating units started to implement the contents of the exercise as planned.
