Over the past five years, under the direct leadership and direction of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense and guidance from higher levels, Army Corps 12’s Party Committee and Chain-of-Command have comprehensively led and directed the comprehensive implementation of emulation and commendation work and the “Determined to win” movement, contributing to motivating officers and soldiers to stay united and overcome all difficulties and challenges to excellently fulfill the assigned tasks.

During the five-year of implementing the “Determined to win” emulation movement, the army corps has focused on turning it into a unit that is strong in terms of politics and firm in ideology, building healthy, strong, and outstanding party organizations and comprehensively strong units.

In addition to that, its agencies, units, and schools have effectively implemented the plan on building and popularizing exemplary people in the 2021-2025 period. As a result, 307 officers and soldiers have been honored at the grassroots level, and 70 have been rewarded at the army corps-level.

For obtained results over the past five years, 19,842 collectives and individuals in the whole army corps have been honored; 536 collectives have been awarded, while 536 collectives have been presented with the “Emulation Flag” and Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of National Defense. Twenty individuals have been granted the title of “Emulation Warrior”; four collectives have received the Government's Emulation Flag; on collective has been awarded with the Military Exploit Order by the President; 40 collectives and individuals have been awarded the Fatherland Protection Order, and 5,139 individuals have been conferred the “Determined to win” military flag and the Glorious Soldier Medal. During the congress, the leadership of Army Corps 12 presented Emulation Flags to collectives with outstanding achievements in the “Determined to win” movements over the past five years.

Speaking at the event, Gen. Cuong lauded outstanding achievements of Army Corps 12 and the outstanding individuals and collectives in “Determined to win” movement over the past five years. On this occasion, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense thanked the Party, State, central committees, ministries, and sectors, local Party committees and authorities for creating favorable conditions and supporting Army Corps 12 in successfully completing all assigned tasks.

The Chief of the General Staff emphasized that in the coming years, Army Corps 12 needs to clearly recognize both advantages and challenges, uphold the spirit of “Unity, Discipline, Proactivity, Creativity, and Determination to Win,” and enhance the implementation of the “Determined to win” movement; continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the policies and directives of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense regarding emulation and commendation work.

Gen. Cuong also urged the army corps to raise officers and soldiers’ awareness of the emulation work, thus turning it into regular task of each person and organization. He stressed that each official and party member, especially agencies and units’ leaders must raise their pioneering and exemplary role in emulation movement.

The Chief of the General Staff asked Army Corps 12 to effectively carry out the Resolution on Fatherland protection strategy in the new period; strategies, projects, and legal documents on military and defense. The unit should raise its combat strength, strictly observe combat readiness regulations, pro-actively respond to non-traditional security challenges, actively research and develop military art and effectively respond to high-tech warfare.

Gen. Cuong stressed that Army Corps 12 should continue to promote the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers; focus on building strong, healthy party committees and organizations at all levels; strengthen the contingent of officers at all levels; foster the implementation of the movement of studying and following of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and lifestyle and the emulation movements and campaigns of all sectors and industries.
