PANO - Air Force Regiment 910 (the Air Force Officer Training School) on November 2nd celebrated its 55th anniversary (November 3rd, 1958), in the presence of Major General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Commander of the Air Defence-Air Forces .

At the meeting, Colonel Duong Hong Truong, Head of the regiment, briefed the participants on the establishment, building, combat and development of the unit over the past 55 years. The regiment conducted 76 pilot training courses, training hundreds of pilot trainers and 1,000 pilots for the Vietnam People’s Army, Laos and Cambodia.

12 officers of the unit received the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title, and two others were presented with the “Meritorious Teacher” title. Its cadres and lecturers were also awarded medals for the cause of education.

With its contributions, the unit was presented with noble medals and emulation flags by the Party, State, Army and Service, and on December 12th, 2000, the Party and State granted the unit the noble title, “The Heroic Unit of the People’s Armed Forces in the renewal period”.

Addressing the meeting, Major General Le Huy Vinh highly appreciated the efforts of the unit’s troops, trainers and defence workers over the past time, and asked troops to promote studying and training to raise their professionalism, making contributions to building a revolutionary, regular, elite and modern service and meeting the demand of missions in the new context.
