Aero-Medical Evacuation Training for Vietnam’s L2FH Rotation 3 launched
PANO - The Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations (VNDPKO), in association with Military Hospital 175, the Air Defense - Air Force Service and relevant agencies, launched an aero-medical evacuation training course for the personnel of Vietnam’s Level-two Field Hospital (L2FH) Rotation 3 on November 2 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The opening ceremony witnessed the participation of Senior Colonel, Dr. Tran Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175; Lieutenant Colonel Truong Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Training Center under the VNDPKO, and representatives from Air Division 370 and the Air Defense - Air Force Medical Institute.

During the five-day program, the personnel of the L2FH Rotation 3 will study basic contents of aero-medical evacuation, including the overview of aero-medical evacuation services, plan building, principles of medical evacuation, safety regulations, procedures for evacuation required by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan and the United Nations.
The training program aims to equip participants with general knowledge and provide them opportunity to practice with a standard equipment set used for the aero-medical evacuation team (AMET) of the L2FH Rotation 3. The trainees will also practice dealing with real situations on helicopter of Division 370.
This year’s training program is run by Vietnamese instructors from the Air Defense - Air Force Medical Institute, experienced members of the AMET of the L2FH Rotation 1 and high-profile personnel of Military Hospital 175.
The program is a significant part of the training program in preparation for the L2FH Rotation 3 to make it ready to replace the L2FH Rotation 2 in South Sudan in the time to come, Lieutenant Colonel Truong Anh Tuan said.
