Vietnamese Navy hands over equipment package to Royal Cambodian Navy
PANO - On the morning of October 22, at Moc Bai International Border Gate in Tay Ninh Province, the Vietnam People’s Navy, in coordination with Corps 20 (Saigon Newport Corporation), held a ceremony to present an equipment package to the Royal Cambodian Navy.

The event was chaired by Senior Captain Nguyen Quoc Doanh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People’s Navy.
This activity was carried out to actualize the outcomes of the Vietnamese naval delegation’s visit and traditional New Year greetings to the Royal Cambodian Navy in April, 2025. The equipment presented on this occasion are intended to improve the working and living conditions of officers and soldiers of the Island and Coastal Protection Command of the Royal Cambodian Navy, while contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship and close cooperation between the two peoples, militaries, and navies.
In his remarks, Capt. Doanh affirmed that Vietnam and Cambodia are neighboring countries with a long-standing traditional friendship. Throughout their revolutionary struggles, the two nations’ peoples and militaries have stood side by side, offering mutual assistance. Today, that fine tradition continues to be reinforced and developed, becoming an invaluable asset shared by both nations. He emphasized that this treasured relationship is being preserved and further strengthened by the two peoples, militaries, and particularly the two navies.

The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People’s Navy stated that the equipment reflects the sincere sentiment of Vietnamese naval officers and soldiers as well as Corps 20 toward their Cambodian peers.
Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Island and Coastal Protection Command of the Royal Cambodian Navy Vice Admiral Soth Saroeun, on behalf of the Royal Cambodian Navy, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Vietnam People’s Navy for its continuous support through equipment and financial assistance. He acknowledged Vietnam’s contributions to the construction of numerous facilities and infrastructure, as well as human resource training for the Royal Cambodian Navy since the 1980s. Specifically, many infrastructure projects at the Island and Coastal Protection Command have been built with assistance from Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense and affiliated partner units.

At the ceremony, the Vietnamese delegation handed over an equipment package consisting of 20 air conditioners, 30 A4 printers, and one 36-inch map printer, with a total value of nearly VND 600 million.
