He emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have constantly developed across fields, of which defense cooperation is one of the important pillars. In addition, the mutual understanding, trust, friendship and cooperation between the two peoples and militaries have been enhanced together with the increase in awareness of the two countries’ peoples and troops of the significance and importance of the relations between Vietnam and Laos.
The Vietnamese general underlined that the Party, State, Government, military, and people of Vietnam always bear in mind the great support from the Lao counterparts in the past struggle for the nation’s independence and reunification, and the current Fatherland construction and defense.
He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Laos will reap more achievements and affirm its status and role in the region and the world.

Given that this year the two defense ministries’ affiliates have closely coordinated and well implemented annual cooperation plan, especially in information dissemination, all-level delegation exchange, personnel training, border management and protection, Gen. Minh hoped that Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh will support and create conditions for relevant agencies to effectively and comprehensively carry out bilateral defense cooperation activities, including the first Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia border defense friendship exchange, slated for this December.
For her part, Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh thanked the Vietnamese delegation for their congratulations. She spoke highly of the close and meaningful cooperation between the two defense ministries over the past time, making important contribution to tightening the Vietnam-Laos relationship.
The Lao diplomat laid stress on her support and readiness to cooperate to help the two sides effectively conduct defense cooperation activities, including the aforementioned first-ever exchange.
