During the conference, upon being briefed on Xiangkhouang province’s socio-economic development and defense-security situation, the Son La provincial Military Command conducted a survey and then supported the Lao side in developing several economic models, including afforestation for production, fruit tree model, and model of livestock and poultry breeding, among others.

It was a practical activity to consolidate the special solidarity and cooperation between the two provinces in the field of defense and security associated with socio-economic development.

Reportedly, in 2019, the Son La provincial Military Command established twinning ties with the Xiangkhouang provincial Military Command. Accordingly, the two units agreed to coordinate in promoting dissemination and education among the two province’s armed forces and people; exchange information of mutual interests; building a firm defensive area; and sharing experience in training to raise combat readiness competence; to name but a few.
