Vietnamese engineers hand over humanitarian projects to Abyei High School
PANO - Vietnam’s Engineering Company Rotation 1 and the Office of Civilian-Military Cooperation of the U.N. Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) co-held a ceremony on February 11 to inaugurate and hand over humanitarian projects to Abyei High School.

The projects included a road leading to the school with a width of 5m and a length of 150m; a well of fresh water, a pump, an electric generator, a 5m3 water tank and a fresh water supply pipeline system; two classrooms, a teacher’s room, a library, a canteen and a security room.
Especially, the Vietnamese engineers presented six laptops, worth VND 60 million, to Abyei High School. These laptops were connected to the LAN network.

According to Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr, Force Commander and Acting Head of Mission for the UNISFA, the humanitarian projects contributed to helping teachers and students overcome difficulties and raising the teaching and learning quality of the school.
