At the reception, Gen. Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, and Gen. Thaw Lwin, Director of the Directorate of Signals of the Myanmar Armed Forces, highlighted the fruitful friendship between the two nations in different fields, including defense.

They also affirmed that bilateral defense cooperation has brought about practical outcomes, especially in delegation exchanges and education and training and become one of the pillars of the two nations’ relationship.

Gen. Huong hoped to see flourishing ties between the Directorate of Signals of the Myanmar Armed Forces and the Military-run Telecommunications Group Viettel and the Signal Corps of Vietnam in the time to come.

Major General Thaw Lwin’s visit was to realize the cooperation deal inked in March this year between the two militaries during the official visit to Vietnam of Senior General Min Aung Hlaiang, Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces.
