Present at the event were General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member, Deputy-Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister of Vietnam, Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong, Politburo member and Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission.
The house was built by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, while its Chinese counterpart financed the house’s audio systems.

The two sides also reviewed two years of twinning relationship between Po To hamlet and Ge Jie hamlet (Jin Shuihe town, Jinping district, Yunan province, China). Then, General Ngo Xuan Lich and Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong jointly planted a memorial tree and presented gifts to local people.
On the same day, under the framework of the exchange, Vietnamese and Chinese delegates watched an anti-terrorism exercise “Nam Na-2017” conducted by the two countries’ armed forces.
According to the mock-up, they joined hands to pursue and wipe out a terrorist group. The exercise was considered a success.
After the exercise, General Ngo Xuan Lich and Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong highly appreciated the participants’ performances and affirmed that the exercise was an opportunity for the two sides to boost their understanding and cooperation on the shared border, contributing to further promoting the traditional friendship relations between the two peoples and armies.
* Additionally, General Ngo Xuan Lich also attended a ceremony to inaugurate a center to introduce culture, tourism and products at Ma Lu Thang Border Gate in Lai Chau province.

The center was built with the investment of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense with the aim at fostering border trade activities between Vietnam and China through the border gate as well as encouraging local business.
* On the afternoon of the same day, General Ngo Xuan Lich bade farewell to Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong and his delegation, concluding activities under the exchange in Vietnam.
