Vietnam, Cambodia boost military training cooperation

PANO – A high-ranking delegation of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), led by General Eth Sasrath, Deputy Commander-in-Chief and head of the Training Department under the RCAF, paid a working visit to Army Officer Training School No.2 (Nguyen Hue University) of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) on October 28.
The school’s rector, Lieutenant General Tu Ngoc Luong, and other high-ranking officers of the school welcomed the visiting delegation.

At the working session, both sides recalled past experiences in the traditional friendship and solidarity between the two peoples and the two armies. Leaders of the Vietnamese military school briefed the Cambodian delegation on their missions as well as training results for Cambodian officers since 2011 till now. Nearly 1,000 Cambodian cadets majoring in the Vietnamese language and military subjects have graduated from the school with high scores.
On behalf of the Cambodian delegation, General Eth Sasrath expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, State and people in general and the school’s instructors and staff in particular for the great support.
At the event, the Cambodian defense delegation together with representatives of the Department of Military Schools Management of the VPA’s General Staff and the Department of Foreign Relations under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense witnessed a signing ceremony on training cooperation between the Vietnamese school and the RCAF’s officer training school.
After the signing ceremony, the Cambodian delegation toured the accommodation site of Cambodian officers in the school and joined exchanges with its instructors and officers.
