Training course for Lao officers opens
PANO - The Defense Institute for Strategic Studies under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense on August 3 opened the 3rd training course on strategic research for Lao officers at Unit 871 of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Than, Deputy Director of the Defense Institute for Strategic Studies stressed that defense cooperation is a major pillar in the relationship between the two countries. Especially, the training courses for Lao officers of the Laos People’s Army is one of the most important political tasks of the Institute.
During the four-month course, the Lao carders will study theories, and work on some research projects related to strategic issues in the field of defense and subjects under the cooperation program between the Defense Institute for Strategic Studies under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Military History Institute of Laos. These are the basic knowledge for Lao officers to better task performance in their units.
During the course, the trainees will have field trips to some units under the People's Army of Vietnam, to improve their professional skills and contribute to strengthening the solidarity and relationship between the two armies.
