An overview of the event

During the conference, the two sides reviewed the outcomes of cooperation activities from August 2022 to August 2023, including delegation exchange, joint patrols, information sharing and exchange. In addition, both sides agreed on cooperation contents for the next year.

The delegates highly appreciated the outcomes of Deputy Commander of the Naval Service Rear Admiral Phan Tuan Hung’s visit to Thailand and his participation in the Defense and Security Exhibition (August 2022), as well as Chairman of the Royal Thai Navy Advisory Committee Admiral Wuttichai Saistean’s visit to Vietnam and his attendance at the Vietnam International Defense Expo (December 2022).

Both sides signing the MoU

The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the results of the 46th and 47th joint patrols, search and rescue exercises, and naval training activities. They also agreed to continue organizing more visits for ships of the two navies after joint patrols.

Concluding the conference, both sides specified cooperation contents in 2024.
