The event was in the framework of the ongoing exchange of the two militaries’ young leaders, which will last until November 3, according to the cooperation plan 2024 agreed by the two defense ministries.
At the talk, the two sides laid stress on the political determination of Vietnamese and Cambodian militaries’ leaderships and efforts of their young officers to consolidate and promote the good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability between the two countries.

They highlighted the role of young leaders of the two militaries who directly lead units to implement their political missions and bring into play the glorious tradition of each military so as to constantly bring the two nations’ relations to a new height.
Delegates spoke highly of the further exchange of expertise, enhancement of the solidarity, friendship and cooperative ties between the two militaries and peoples, particularly between young generations.

Speaking at the event, Maj. Gen. Ngthsovann Arundeth, who is also head of the delegation of young leaders of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, attributed part of Cambodia’s achievements to the timely support from the Party, government, military and people of Vietnam. He stressed that the two sides should uphold their solidarity, friendship, trust, and close coordination in national building and defense as well as security, stability and development in the region and in each country.
Maj. Gen. Nguyen Van Hoang talked about the twinning and cooperative ties between MR7’s armed forces and Cambodian military units, saying that they have helped maintain security and order in border areas, tighten the solidarity and friendship between the two countries, and create conditions for local economic development.

The two sides expressed their hope that strategic trust between the two militaries’ young leaders would be consolidated and promoted while more expertise exchange would be held. They also suggested further cooperation in personnel training and intensive and practical exchange of young officers and military youths, as well as mutual support at multilateral and international forums.
After the talk, the Cambodian delegation will visit Division 5 under Military Region 7, have expertise and sport exchanges with troops of Can Tho Military Command and Brigade 25 under Military Region 9 and visit some cultural and historical relic sites in Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
