Refresher course opened for Laos’ National Defense Journal’s personnel
PANO - The Vietnam’s National Defense Journal opened a refresher course for cadres of its Lao counterpart on May 8 at Unit 871 under the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Major General Ta Quang Chuyen, Editor-in-Chief of the National Defense Journal of Vietnam emphasized that the People’s Armies of Laos and Vietnam have carried out numerous cooperative activities, importantly contributing to consolidating the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two neighboring countries. Such a course is part of the cooperation program for 2023 of the two militaries.
The Vietnamese general said that during one month course, ten Lao officials will learn about the host National Defense Journal’s organization, operation, experience, editing work, its Vietnamese, English and Chinese online versions, among others. They will also participate in fact-find trips to agencies and units specializing in research and communications.

In his speech, Colonel Thimsao Duangchampa, Editor-in-Chief of the Laos’ National Defense Journal highly appreciated the support of the host journal over the past time. He confirmed that the participating Lao cadres will heighten their responsibility, acquire knowledge during the course to later creatively and effectively apply to their real working conditions, thereby developing research and popularization work of the Lao People’s Army.
