MR7’s delegation visits Cambodia
PANO – A delegation of Military Region 7, led by its Deputy Political Commissar Major General Do Van Banh, on June 10, visited and handed over financial support from the Vietnamese government to the Cambodian provinces and military regions.
Deputy Governor of Kratie Bunsereyrathmony and Commander of the Military Sub-Region of Kratie province Lieutenant General Nay Tan Lang thanked General Banh and the MR7 Command for their solidarity and special care for the Cambodian localities, while informing the Vietnamese delegation about the coordination between Search Team K72 of the Binh Phuoc provincial Military Command and the Military Sub-Region of Kratie province.

Reportedly, during the recent mission, Team K72 has searched and collected 33 sets of martyrs’ remains. So far, the team has gathered and repatriated more than 1,400 sets of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who died during the war in Kratie province.
According to Deputy Governor of Kratie Bunsereyrathmony, border demarcation along the shared borderline of Kratie (Cambodia) and Binh Phuoc (Vietnam) has been completed 100%. The two sides have signed a cooperation agreement, regularly exchanged information, and created all favorable conditions for people’s travelling and clearance of goods over the border areas. Meanwhile, military forces of both sides have always strengthened coordination in patrolling and maintaining social order and security in the areas.

For his part, General Banh thanked the Cambodian side for their support, which helped Team K72 fulfill their mission. The Vietnamese military officer also congratulated Cambodia on its successful organization of the fifth commune and ward council elections, hoping that the country would further create favorable conditions for Vietnam to accomplish its assigned tasks.
On this occasion, the MR7’s delegation and representatives of Binh Phuoc province presented gifts and financial support of USD 13,000 in cash from the Vietnamese government in 2022 to the Cambodian side.
Earlier, the Vietnamese delegation also visited and presented gifts to Battalion 204 of the Military Sub-Region of Kratie province, and inspected and offered gifts to Team K72.
On the same day, the delegation offered incense in tribute to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in Kratie province and then continue their visit to Kampong Cham province.
