Speaking at the meeting, General Thang congratulated 30 Lao officers on completing the course at the National Defense Academy. Thang affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State, and Army have always treasured the time-honored relationship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with Laos. He pledged that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense will work with the Lao Defense Ministry to preserve and promote the special relations between the two countries for peace, stability, and development in the region in general and each country in particular.

General Thang affirmed that defense cooperation is one of the important pillars in the Vietnam-Laos relationship and highlighted the fruitful outcomes of the bilateral defense cooperation, especially in training. He recalled that over the past time, the two sides have hosted courses to raise their officers’ competence to meet task requirements and create opportunities for troops of the two militaries to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding. Thang believed that 30 Lao officers of the third command and staff refresher course will apply the knowledge they acquired during the course to their work, contributing to strengthening the Lao military.

At the event, the Lao officers thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, the Department of Foreign Relations, and the National Defense Academy for providing favorable conditions for them to complete the course. They promised to apply their practical knowledge to their task implementation, contributing to the development of the Lao military and the time-honored friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
