An official welcome ceremony for the 100-member Korean delegation, led by head of the Korea Coast Guard Academy’s Office Kim Young Chul, was held with the participation of leaders of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, the Hai Phong municipal People’s Committee, the Vietnam Border Guard Command, and relevant agencies of the Ministry of National Defense, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, and Hai Phong city.
During their stay in Hai Phong, the Korean delegation will pay a courtesy call on leaders of the municipal People's Committee and the Coast Guard Region 1 Command and visit Coast Guard Region 1 and have professional exchange with the Vietnamese coast guard force.
This is the third time that ship BADARO has visited, had exchange, and attended activities with the Vietnam Coast Guard. This third visit to Hai Phong city is one of the practical activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the KCG’s foundation day and 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Coast Guard. The event is also to continue to affirm the fine friendship and cooperation between the two forces and an opportunity for Vietnamese and Korean coast guard troops to share and exchange experience to strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding.
On the occasion, a mission of the KCG, led by Commander of the central region coast guard under the KCG Kim Byung Ro, will attend the 11th bilateral conference with the Vietnam Coast Guard.
At night on October 30, a banquet was held at Pearl River Hotel to welcome the Korean delegation and crew-members of training ship BADARO to visit and have exchange in the city.
At the event, Commander of Coast Guard Region 1 Major General Tran Van Tho expressed honor and delight at welcoming head of the Korean delegation Kim Young Chul and training ship BADARO’s crew-members and other distinguished guests.
The Commander of Coast Guard Region 1 emphasized that in the context that the bilateral diplomatic ties have seen breakthrough developments and lifted to comprehensive strategic partnership after 30 years, the cooperation activities between the two forces have contributed to enhancing the capability of the Vietnamese coast guard force and strengthening their coordination in enforcing law at sea, thus actualizing the comprehensive strategic partnership in the field of defense and security.
The visit and exchange of the Korean delegation to Hai Phong city aims to not only foster cooperation between the two forces but also offer an opportunity for them to share law enforcement experience, thus enhancing mutual understanding to together build waters of peace, stability, security, safety, and development.
