Chinese training ship visits Da Nang city
PANO - The training ship Qi Jiguang (numbered 83) of the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), led by Major General Su Yinsheng, Political Commissar of PLA Dalian Naval Academy, docked at Tien Sa port, starting the visit to the Central city of Da Nang on May 23.

A welcome ceremony for the ship and the Chinese working mission was held right at the port in the presence of leaders of the municipal Department of Foreign Relations, Senior Captain Ho Sy Dung, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 3, representatives from the Ministry of National Defense’s Department of Foreign Relations, Military Region 5’s Foreign Relations Division, the Military and Border Guard Commands of Da Nang city.
The ceremony demonstrated Vietnam’s treasuring its cooperative ties with China, contributing to promoting the traditional friendship, comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in general and the bilateral defense cooperation in particular. It also confirmed the mutual trust between the two navies, thereby enhancing their exchange, contacts, and cooperation.
During the three-day visit to Da Nang city, the Chinese working mission will pay a courtesy call on leaders of the city, the Military Region 3 and Naval Region 3 commands, and visit some local landscapes.

As part of the visit, Ship Qi Jiguang will join a formation maneuvering exercise with ships from the Vietnam People’s Navy while Chinese officers and soldiers will have sports exchanges with Vietnamese peers.
The Chinese naval ship’s visit this time will help promote mutual trust, understanding and develop the friendly partnership between the two navies.
