PANO - INS SATPURA and INS KIRCH - two Indian naval warships with more than 600 crewmembers on board - arrived at Cam Ranh International Port in Khanh Hoa province on May 30th for a friendly visit to Vietnam.

Led by Rear Admiral Soonil V Bhokare, Commander of the Eastern Fleet of the Indian Navy, the visit is part of ongoing relations between the two countries and their developing defense ties.

The Indian officer also highlighted the role of Cam Ranh International Port in repairing and maintaining foreign ships.

At the reception, the host was briefed on INS SATPURA tasks in sea combat and rescue, with made-in-India weapons and equipment.

As scheduled, the Indian crewmembers will pay a courtesy call to leaders of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, visit the Naval Academy of Vietnam, and hold sports matches with troops of Vietnam’s Naval Region 4.

Indian and Vietnamese ships will have a joint line-up exercise at sea on June 3rd.
