The Vietnamese defense chief congratulated the diplomat on her new post in Vietnam. Given that Vietnam treasures and highly appreciates its cooperative ties with Spain, he stressed that the country is willing to lift Vietnam-Singapore bilateral relations to a new height, on par with the countries’ potential of cooperation.

Gen. Giang assessed that the Vietnam-Spain defense cooperation has been carried out in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding on the field signed in 2010. He said that there remains much room for the two sides to boost their bilateral defense ties to meet each country’s needs and strengths. He suggested the two sides concentrate their cooperation on such fields as all-level delegation exchange, U.N. peacekeeping operations, settlement of war legacy and coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums.
