        Defense leader tours U.K.’s military barracks and defense group
    
        
            
                PANO - A delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang visited Wellington Barracks of the British Armed Forces in London and worked with Leonardo Helicopters Group on October 29 (local time).

	At Wellington Barracks, Oil Harry, Director of the Defense Export Agency under the U.K. Ministry of Defense, introduced the Wildcat helicopter, one of the advanced tactical and technical aircraft developed, manufactured, and supplied by Leonardo Helicopters for the British Armed Forces and several other countries.
	During the visit to the Leonardo Group, representatives of the group briefed the Vietnamese delegation on its history, organizational structure, and its range of defense-related products and systems, including helicopters, radar systems, avionics, and cybersecurity solutions.
	Speaking at the meeting, the Vietnamese deputy defense minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense highly values and seeks to further promote defense industry cooperation with the U.K. Ministry of Defense.
	General Thang expressed the desire to accelerate the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on defense industry cooperation between the two ministries, creating a legal framework and favorable conditions for relevant agencies and enterprises from both sides to implement specific cooperation projects in the coming time.
	The Vietnamese defense leader also commended the technological capabilities of Leonardo Group, one of the leading defense contractors in the U.K., and thanked the company for its participation in the first and second editions of the Vietnam Defense Expo. He hoped the corporation would continue to send a delegation to attend the third edition scheduled for 2026.
