During the meeting, the Vietnamese deputy defense minister emphasized that under the strategic guidance of the senior leaders of the two parties and countries, the bilateral cooperative relationship has developed in all areas of cooperation in a more intensive, substantive, effective manner. 

In their recent reciprocal visits, senior leaders of the two parties and countries confirmed their commitment to further strengthening and elevating the comprehensive strategic partnership, promoting the building of the Vietnam-China community with a shared future based on the "6 mores" approach.

General Chien highlighted that, over the past time, the bilateral defense cooperation has proven to be one of the key pillars of the relationship between the two countries, as evidenced by practical and effective results of many collaboration fields.

Looking ahead, based on the mutual understanding between the senior leaders of the two countries and the signed documents and agreements between the two defense ministries, General Chien suggested that both sides continue to implement the cooperation contents and fields effectively. He also urged relevant agencies from both sides to well prepare for the 9th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, which is expected to take place in April 2025.

At the meeting, the Chinese diplomat expressed his delight at the remarkable outcomes in defense cooperation between the two ministries and highly appreciated the discussion with General Chien. He said that at this event, both sides discussed and agreed on key cooperation areas that need to be implemented and promoted in the near future, including the 9th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, thus deepening the defense cooperation between the two ministries and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China.
