The Vietnamese officer highlighted the command’s effective building of a healthy and strong Party Organization, a comprehensively-strong unit and the firm whole-people’s defense disposition and the people’s heart posture while upholding political security and public order, helping develop local socio-economy.
In a united atmosphere, the two sides discussed and agreed that last year they regularly exchanged information, organized exchanges and supported each other, contributing to the completion of political tasks of each side. They reached an agreement that this year they will strengthen coordination, give mutual support to each other, and make contribution to cultivating the solidarity, friendship and cooperative ties between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Earlier, the Cambodian unit visited and sent New Year greetings to the Party Committee and People’s Committee of Binh Thuan province.
The same day, a mission from Military Region 4 of the Royal Cambodian Armed Force (RCAF), led by its Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Soeum, visited the Gia Lai provincial Military Command.

The Cambodian general spoke highly of the close coordination between the two sides over the past years, contributing to maintaining firm security in the shared border areas. He also emphasized the joint search and collection of remains of Vietnamese volunteer troops and experts who sacrificed their lives while doing international missions in Cambodia. So far, 5,900 remains of fallen troops have been repatriated.
On the occasion of the approaching lunar New Year, Major General Soeum wished Gia Lai provincial Military Command’s officers and soldiers, and people of Gia Lai province good health, luck and development. He hoped the solidarity and close-knit ties between his unit and the Gia Lai provincial Military Command to continue developing sustainably.
In his speech, Senior Colonel Le Thanh Tung, Second-in-Command of the Gia Lai provincial Military Command, said that Search and Collection Team K52 of the Division of Political Affairs under the command has collected seven remains of fallen troops since November 2023. He attributed the outcomes to the support and creation of favorable conditions for the team from the authorities of Ratanakiri province and Military Region 4.
