Cambodian border guards visit Vietnamese peers
PANO – A delegation of the Department for Border Affairs, under the Royal Cambodian Army of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), on January 20, visited Vietnam’s Tay Ninh provincial Border Guard Command ahead of the Vietnamese traditional Lunar New Year festival (Tet).

At the meeting, Lieutenant General Tienso Phornvoung, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Royal Cambodian Army and Director of the department, expressed thanks to the Vietnam People’s Army and the Vietnam Border Guard Command for supporting the RCAF and Cambodian border forces.
The Cambodian general suggested that the two sides should further coordinate in managing and protecting the shared borderline, while creating favorable conditions for people of the two sides to visit each other, trade goods, and go to hospital.
He also took this occasion to wish troops of the Tay Ninh provincial Border Guard Command a peaceful and happy Tet.
In turn, Senior Colonel Dinh Viet Binh, Deputy Commander of the Vietnamese command, thanked the Cambodian delegation and wanted the two sides to continue to boost their coordination, contributing to building the shared borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
