Border people receive free health check-ups and medicines
PANO - The Vietnamese and Lao medical staff jointly held a program on October 14 to provide free health check-ups and medicines to 520 people in three border communes in Moc Chau district at the Vietnam-Laos border friendship military-civilian medical station.
This activity was part of free health examination and medicine program for people along the Vietnam-Lao borderline, within the framework of the second Vietnam-Laos border defense friendship exchange program.
During the three days, medical staff of the two countries provided free medical examinations and medicines for 2,105 border people in Sop Bao district (Houaphanh province, Laos) and Moc Chau district (Son La province, Vietnam).

Meanwhile, they instructed local residents how to take care of their health and children’s health and prevent and control common diseases; as well as presented gifts to medical facilities and local authorities.

The activity contributed to screening and detecting common diseases; updating people with knowledge about health care, protection, and disease prevention and control. This was an occasion for the two countries’ military medical officers to exchange and share experiences in medical profession and military medical, while enhancing the spirit of solidarity, thereby deepening the solidarity and friendship between the two peoples, militaries, and military medical sectors.
