PANO - A conference on cooperatioon in 2012 of border guards in Dong Thap Province and Prey Veng Province of Cambodia took place on February 8th at Dinh Ba international border gate.
Last year, the two sides exchanged periodically their information about security in their respective country and along their common borders, especially information relating to crimes, thieves, robbers and drug-related crimes.
Also, many patrols and checking over the borders have been carried out carefully. They had cleared procedures for approximately 140,000 vehicles and 300,000 people to cross the common border. In addition, the two country’s armies also effectively introduced their governments’ guidelines, laws and policies or many borders’ agreement and regulations to nearly 3,000 local people. This improves people’s awareness of national border and territory to keep social order and security. Meanwhile, health-checking rooms of army and people in Dong Thap province provided treatment to more than 7,000 people and gave essential medicines to 1,600 Cambodian people.
This year, the two sides will increase their exchanging experience and education propaganda to prevent cross border crimes and maintain border security to build a friendly and common development between two nations.
