PANO - The Australian naval ship HMAS Sirius carrying 62 officers and sailors on board arrived at Tien Sa Port of Da Nang city on October 30th, starting a five-day visit to the locality.
Receiving the ship were representatives of the Vietnam People’s Navy; relevant units of Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence; Da Nang municipal Department of External Affairs; Colonel Darren Kerr, Australian Defence Attaché to Vietnam; representatives of the Australian Embassy in Vietnam, and other relevant agencies.

As scheduled, during their five-day stay in Da Nang, the ship’s crewmembers will pay courtesy calls to leaders of the municipal People’s Committee, the chains of command of Military Zone 5 and Naval Region 3, and visit departments and agencies of the city.
The crewmembers will also join a sports event with Brigade 161 of Naval Region 3 and share professional experience on supply replenishment and ship monitoring. They will also visit tourist sites in Da Nang and neighbouring localities.
The visit of Ship HMAS Sirius of the Royal Australian Navy aims to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two navies.
