All of them paid much attention to and made preparations for the second semi-finals which took place on August 24.
Earlier, on the same flight from Hanoi to Moscow in early August as well as during their working time in Russia, reporters of the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) had heard about the pride and honor of members of the Vietnamese Tank Contingent participating in this year’s Army Games many times.
According to Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armored Corps cum Head of the Vietnamese Tank Contingent Colonel Vu Ba Truong, the Vietnamese team competes with strong rivals, including Russia, Belarus, China, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, and strict regulations, requiring the team to make thorough preparation for its performance.
Therefore, reaching the semi-finals in the Army Games 2022 was the result of careful preparation, efforts and determination of the team. They also strictly learned from experience to gain higher records. As a result, all three Vietnamese tank crews accomplished the qualifying round. The organizing panel has also added several techniques which require hard training and competence by the competitors.
In the semi-finals, three crews compete in “Relay” competition. In addition, the organizing board built more obstacles and other regulations for participating teams.
To prepare for the semi-finals, over the past two days, Colonel Truong and all members of the Vietnamese Tank Contingent have prepared vehicles and equipment, and promoted high determination for the competition.
On behalf of the contingent, Colonel Truong also sent sincere thanks to all fans at home, especially Vietnamese expats living and working in Russia who were present at Alabino training ground to support the contingent in the qualifying round.
The Vietnamese contingent entered the semi-finals at 15:00 on August 24 (Vietnam time). It was a special competition of the team because ahead of the event, they had learned a lot of experience and received big support from its fans.
