PANO – The Vietnam-Italy Friendship Association held a meeting on November 11 in Hanoi to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the association.

Present at the ceremony were Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Bui Khac Son; President of the Vietnam-Italy Friendship Association Nguyen Van Nam; Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Cecilia Piccioni.

Delivering the opening remark, Mr. Nam affirmed during its 30-year history of development, the Vietnam-Italy Friendship Association held interesting activities, contributing significantly to general development of political, cultural, trade and economic relations between the two countries in the 1980s-1990s on one hand; it helped preserve and strengthen close friendship between Italian friendship associations and Vietnamese friendship associations.

Meanwhile, Mr. Son affirmed that the relationship between the two countries has been brought to a new high level, hoping that the association will bring into full play their strengths and dedicate more energy and effort to further promote mutual understanding between the two peoples, contributing to strengthening the traditional good relationship on a par with the Vietnam-Italy strategic partnership.

On this occasion, the Vietnam-Italy Friendship Association also kicked off the Talk “Vietnam-Italy Friendly Relations and Cooperation” with the participation of representatives of the Italy-Vietnam Association, Italy-Vietnam Friendship Chapter in Veneto and the Center for Vietnam Studies in Torino, Italy.
