Addressing the event, Minh highly valued the great efforts of relevant ministries, agencies and sectors in actively and creatively implementing international integration in politics-defense-security with great achievements.

Particularly, the programs of “online external affairs” and “COVID Diplomacy” have been effectively promoted. In addition, relevant ministries have well performed the country’s role as the Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The protection of citizens has been strengthened in the current context, he added.

To better implement the tasks in the last six months of the year, he asked the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Public Security and National Defense to closely work with relevant ministries, agencies and sectors to boost bilateral and multilateral ties while effectively implementing the programs of “online external affairs” and “COVID Diplomacy.”

In addition, the relevant agencies should contribute actively to the success of Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 and a non-permanent membership of the UNSC.

Furthermore, relevant ministries should promote Vietnam’s achievements in the fight against the COVID-19 and the country’s economic recovery.

He also requested to promote protection of Vietnamese citizens in foreign countries and support for overseas Vietnamese communities.
