PANO - The Indian Embassy in Vietnam on the evening of August 15 hosted a ceremony in celebration of the country’s Independence Day (August 15).
Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Parvathaneni Harish, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam, representatives from Vietnam’s ministries, departments and from the diplomatic corps of foreign countries in Vietnam attended the event.

Addressing the ceremony, the Indian ambassador stressed that the past seven decades of independence have vividly demonstrated the Indian people’s determination to follow the Indian Constitution-oriented policies to develop India as a sovereign nation and a prosperous people.
He added that cooperation between Vietnam and India in security-defense, economics, science and technology, human resource development, training and culture have been developing. Next year, the two countries will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties and 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership.
On behalf the Government and people of Vietnam, Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam extended best wishes to the Indian people, expressing his belief that India will obtain more achievements, bringing prosperity and happiness to its people and continuously heightening its position and status in the region and world.
The senior Vietnamese diplomat also revealed that Vietnam and India relations are developing toward in a deeper, more practical and effective manner.
