East Asia Forum held in Khanh Hoa province
PANO - The 20th East Asia Forum (EAF-20) was jointly held in Nha Trang city, the south central province of Khanh Hoa on December 19 and 20 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee.
Held to mark the 25th founding anniversary of ASEAN+3 (China, Japan and the Republic of Korea), the forum attracted the participation of 90 delegates from countries of ASEAN+3, ASEAN Secretariat, embassies of ASEAN+3 countries in Vietnam, regional and international organizations, international and domestic research institutes, businesses, and departments and agencies of Khanh Hoa province.
The forum focused on four main contents, namely 25-year cooperation among ASEAN+3 countries for peace, security, and prosperity in East Asia; building national and regional healthcare capacity for better resilience to future public health emergencies in East Asia; fostering economic and financial cooperation for recovery and sustainable growth; next 25 years of ASEAN+3 cooperation towards comprehensive, equal and sustainable development in East Asia.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Huu Hoang wished that via the event, experienced managers and scholars from ASEAN members, China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea would have general view about the province’s strengths and potential. He hoped that delegates will give ideas, share information, and help Khanh Hoa and localities in ASEAN, China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea foster cooperation and investment opportunities, thus strengthening economic cooperation between localities of Vietnam and East Asia countries in the coming time.

The East Asia Forum was held to discuss and seek recommendations to promote cooperation in East Asia between ASEAN countries and the Plus 3 countries, including China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
