Henri added, “We bought Vietnam’s national flags and walked along the streets to share the joy with the locals and eagerly awaited the parade.”
The young French tourist was impressed with the Vietnamese people’s hospitality. He said that he had learnt a few Vietnamese phrases, such as “Xin chao” (Hello), “Cam on” (Thank you), and “Chuc mung” (Congratulations). For foreigners like him, knowing some Vietnamese words was a real advantage. Henri said that he could feel the happiness of the Vietnamese when hearing foreign visitors making the effort to speak a little Vietnamese.

"We attended the full-dress rehearsal for the celebration. As parade formations passed by, we heard the people singing Vietnamese songs in unison. We asked for the names of the songs and tried to learn how to sing them in Vietnamese. We’ve been looking forward to today’s official ceremony, hoping to sing along with the locals as the parade goes by," said the British tourists.
