It was an occasion for the two sides to review the mutual outcomes of the longstanding cooperation between Vietnam and the UNDP and map out orientations for the coming time.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong highlighted the profound achievements in the cooperation between Vietnam and the UNDP over the past 45 years.

Since 1978, the UNDP has always stood side by side with Vietnam in its development path from a poor country seriously devastated by the war to a mid-income country.
Meanwhile, the cooperation methods of the two sides have seen dramatic changes that are more suitable to Vietnam’s development levels.
The deputy minister affirmed that Vietnam always regards UNDP as a leading and long-term partner and a close friend, and the bilateral partnership is for the sake of the Vietnamese people, peace and prosperity of the region and the world.

For her part, UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam Ramla Khalidi underlined three factors contributing to the success of the Vietnam-UNDP partnership. They are trust, shared values, and openness.
She added that for a long time, Vietnam and the UNDP have exerted great efforts to promote people-centered and sustainable development. Over the past years, mutual trust has helped both sides expand their partnerships in the fields of commercial, private sector support, climate action, and public administration.
Also, Ramla Khalidi reaffirmed that UNDP would continue accompanying Vietnam in the time to come, contributing to helping Vietnam enhance its position and prestige in the international arena and reach net zero emissions by 2050.
