Vietnam, Russia to boost cooperation in science and technology
PANO - In the framework of his visit to Vietnam, on April 7, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko had a working visit to the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center (VRTC).
The event was also attended by Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich and Russian Deputy Minister of Science and University Mogilevskiy Konstantin Ilich. Meanwhile, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and VRTC Director Major General Dang Hong Trien received the Russian delegation.

At the reception, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien thanked the Russian government for supporting the VRTC over 35 years. The VRTC is considered a symbol of the Vietnam - Russia cooperation relations.

Currently, the center has been strongly developing in all fields, becoming a prestigious multidisciplinary science and technology organization in tropical field in Vietnam, Russia, and international arena. The center’s research outcomes make important contribution to the development of science and technology in general, military science, technology, and technical areas in particular, effectively meeting all military and defense tasks and socio-economic development requirements, as well as the mutual interests of both countries.

Highly appreciating the close bilateral cooperation over the past time, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko affirmed that over the past 35 years, the VRTC has gained many achievements in scientific research. He also hoped to promote the participation of Russia experts in the VRTC in the coming time, thereby promoting science and technology between the two countries.
On the occasion, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko presented a letter of thanks of the Russian government to the VRTC for making contribution to promoting the Vietnam - Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.
