Also attending the event were heads of state and government from Brazil, Colombia, the U.K., Norway, Portugal, Kenya, Mauritania, Barbados, and Tanzania, as well as leaders from various international organizations such as the United Nations, the African Union, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Participants emphasized that solidarity, multilateralism, and trust-building are essential foundations for addressing current global challenges. They reaffirmed the urgency of enhancing the role and voice of developing countries within the framework of global governance and international economic and financial institutions, while calling for the promotion of new solutions and approaches to address the debt burden shouldered by developing nations.

Some leaders affirmed their commitment to increasing funding while emphasizing the need to enhance the effective use of loans, diversifying preferential financial resources for the poorest and most vulnerable countries, particularly in response to climate change.

Talking to President Macron, Son conveyed gratitude from the Vietnamese top leader To Lam for his invitation and his wish to meet with the President soon to discuss ways to boost bilateral cooperation, aiming for a new chapter in Vietnam-France relations to contribute to the development and mutual prosperity of both nations as well as the world.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese official also engaged in separate discussions with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Kenyan President William Ruto, and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva regarding bilateral issues and cooperation directions under the 4P framework.

The 4P initiative was promoted by France and its President personally at the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact in June 2023. To date, it has been supported by 60 nations, including Vietnam.
