According to him, Vietnam, as a significant partner of Russia on the international stage, boasts a rapidly growing economy and a large market. The Southeast Asian nation has signed a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which benefits both economies. The President’s upcoming state visit signals strong commitment of Russia’s high-level leadership to these ties.

Timofeev said advancing economic and trade cooperation will be a top priority for both nations, adding that the visit will catalyze digital transformation efforts. Russia has developed a solid foundation in digital technology and is prepared to share its achievements. Additionally, the oil and gas sector remains a key area of economic cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.

With Russia assuming this year's rotary chairmanship of the BRICS group – comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, the expert said there are ample favorable opportunities for both sides to expand their collaboration.
