Norway willing to share experience in clean energy development with Hanoi
Norway is willing to share its experience in boosting the use of clean and renewable energies with Vietnam, particularly Hanoi capital city, Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam Grete Lochen affirmed when being received by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung on December 6.
She told the host that an important goal of the Norwegian government is to develop a “blue economy” with numerous policies and programmes protecting maritime resources.

Norway and Vietnam can cooperate in blue economy development and aquaculture, she suggested.
The diplomat vowed to do her utmost to promote the relationship between Norway and Vietnam, as well as Hanoi and Norwegian localities.
Chung said Hanoi borders no sea, but has a lot of lakes and rivers. Therefore, the city wants to learn from Norway’s experience in developing its blue economy in an environmentally friendly manner for pollution treatment and to promote the economic value of lakes and rivers in the city.
The city also hopes to collaborate with Norwegian enterprises in the use of renewable energy in projects to generate electricity from waste and to improve the national grid system, he added.
He also voiced his wish the ambassador will act as a bridge connecting the two countries as well as Hanoi and Norwegian localities.
He took the occasion to request the Norwegian Embassy work closely with the municipal People’s Committee to organise activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2021.
