Deputy FM receives leader of Japanese institute
Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang on November 24 hosted a reception for Ozeki Kenji, Director of Japan’s Matsushita Institute of Government and Management (MIGM), who is on a visit to Vietnam.
Giang expressed his pleasure at the strong growth of Vietnam - Japan relations, particularly since they elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world in November 2023.

The official praised the institute as a prestigious and top-quality educational institution in Japan that has trained many outstanding leaders. He also shared Vietnam’s policy priorities for developing high-quality human resources to meet the country’s rapid and sustainable growth needs in the coming years.
To further promote the comprehensive development of the Vietnam - Japan comprehensive strategic partnership, including educational cooperation, he suggested the MIGM support Vietnam in training high-quality human resources through flexible approaches, including assigning lecturers to teach in Vietnam; facilitating Vietnamese officials’ and students’ study at the institute; expanding training for young Vietnamese entrepreneurs to become skilled business leaders based on Japanese experience and business models; and fostering exchanges and cooperation with Vietnamese research and training institutions, and annual thematic workshops and student exchange programs.

For his part, Kenji stated that the institute’s leaders and students have a strong interest in Vietnam and expressed admiration for the country’s remarkable achievements, especially in economic and foreign affairs. He showed his belief that the MIGM’s students will serve as bridges promoting friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
Acknowledging Giang’s proposals, Ozeki affirmed that the institute will actively promote mutual understanding and cooperation with Vietnam, especially in education and training high-quality human resources.
