Cambodian senior delegates and Vietnamese high-ranking officials visiting the historic relic site of Division 125
40 years ago, with the great assistance from the Vietnam's Party, State and army, particularly the Military Region 7 armed force and people of Dong Nai province, Cambodian troops and people under the commandership of Hun Sen established Division 125, the predecessor of Cambodia’s united armed forces for national salvation, in the Long Giao relic site. The relic site has become the symbol for the beginning of the Cambodian revolution, which then overthrew the Cambodian genocidal regime and liberated the Cambodian people.
During the visit, PM Hun Sen and delegates offered incense and observed a minute of silence at the cemetery of 49 fallen Cambodian soldiers, who had laid down their lives during the fight against the Khmer Rouge.
Speaking to Vietnamese voluntary veterans, who used to work and fight in Cambodia, at the Military Region 7 meeting hall, PM Hun Sen appreciated the Vietnamese Party, State and Government for their support for the Cambodian people over the past time and hoped that the two countries will continue promoting their close brotherhood, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region.
Earlier, PM Hun Sen held talk with Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh municipal Party Committee Dinh La Thang at the Reunification Hall in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the talk, City Party Committee’s Secretary Thang stressed that the city's authorities would continue boosting cooperation with Cambodian localities, especially Phnom Penh, contributing to strengthening the two countries' friendship.
For his part, PM Hun Sen lauded the city's socio-economic achievements and its effective cooperation with Cambodian localities, which help increasingly enhance the good neighborhood and the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Later in the afternoon the same day, Cambodian PM Hun Sen left Ho Chi Minh City, successfully concluding the two-day official visit to Vietnam.
