During the AFTEX’s 36th Council Meeting and 34th plenary session, participants will discuss the current situation of the textile sector in the region, as well as measures to strengthen cooperation and improve the capacity in linking production chains among ASEAN member countries.
Meanwhile, the international conference, which is slated for November 1, will focus on analyzing impacts of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), free trade agreements (FTA), the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the ASEAN Economic Community on the regional textile industry.
The conference will also seek sustainable solutions to textile supply chain, while seeing experts sharing their experience of environmental management as well as strategy in searching for supply sources of international brands in Vietnam.
At the same time, Vitas will also organize an exhibition of textile materials and accessories to introduce materials, machineries and equipment as well as latest technologies serving textile production.
The annual exhibition, which covers an area of 5,000 square meters, is expected to draw more than 190 enterprises from 15 countries and territories, including Vietnam, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Pakistan, Thailand and China.
According to the organization board, the event will enable Vietnamese enterprises to access the markets and most up-to-date technologies, helping them sketch out orientations for investment in technology to increase the local content ratio and seeking new material sources, thus enhancing the added value for their products.
Within the exhibition framework, a number of seminars will also be held to share the latest news of the sectors and recommendations from specialists.
