Nearly 15 Vietnamese businesses are showcasing their products at the annual 29th Havana International Fair, that opened in the capital city of Havana on Oct. 31.
The six-day event drew the participation of over 1,500 enterprises from 57 countries all over the world, including 350 domestic enterprises in the fields of healthcare, food processing, electronics, construction and service.
The Vietnamese businesses brought a wide range of products to the event, including foodstuff, textiles, electronic appliances, construction materials, consumer products and handicrafts.
Addressing the opening ceremony, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca said that the event is the largest of its kind in decade in terms of the number of participant. It offers foreign partners a chance to get an insight into the Cuban market as well as investment and cooperation opportunities in this Latin American country.
Malmierca also spoke highly of the presence of Cuba’s important trading partners, including Venezuela, Spain, China and Canada, adding that trade exchange between Cuba and foreign partners rose by 27 percent in the third quarter of this year despite the embargo imposed by the US.
He affirmed that the Cuban government will create favourable conditions for foreign investment projects and continue paying attention to exporting services, and bio-tech and pharmaceutical products.
