Addressing the opening session, Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong said the ministry expects that local and foreign producers and traders in medicines and medical equipment seek bilateral and multilateral partnerships to benefit Vietnamese consumers.

Trinh Xuan Tuan, Vice Director from the Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising joint Stock Company (Vinexad), one of the organizers of the event, said Vietnam Medi-PharmExpo 2018 and the Busan Medical Tourism Expo will take place from December 6-8.

Vietnam Medi-pharmExpo 2018 saw the number of participating companies growing by 20 percent from the 2017 event, with a total of 200 Vietnamese and foreign companies displaying medical, lab, and hospital equipment and devices, pharmaceutical products, beauty-care and dental products, and medical tours.

Yoo Jae Soo, Vice Mayor of Busan city of the Republic of Korea said the Busan Medical Tourism Expo 2018 will allow the exchanges of patients between Vietnam and the RoK and introduce Busan as the city of top-class medical tourism.

According to the Busan official, the city has a wide range of university hospitals, general hospitals, healthcare institutions and clinics so its authority expected that the Busan Medical Tourism Espo 2018 will offer marketing and business opportunities for the city’s enterprises involving the supply of medical equipment and services, beauty care services, and tourism.
