PANO – The Commercial Promotion Department, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, held a seminar “Export cooperation to Middle East and African markets: Opportunities and Remarks” in Ho Chi Minh City on September 20th.
In 2010, Vietnam exported to the Middle East many products such as seafood, mobile phones, garment, footwear, rice and coffee. In particular, the bilateral trade turnover reached over US$ 3.3 billion. In the African market, in 2010, Vietnam also gained export values of US$ 1.8 billion and it is expected that the bilateral turnover will increase to US$ 3.1 billion this year.
In addition, at the seminar the delegates also discussed ways to promote export activities to the two markets and recommended domestic businesses to be cautious about dealing online accusingly.
